Save Money on Digital eShop Purchases by Switching to a Location with Less Tax
"Mario Kart World" for example is $109.99 x 1.15% = $126.49 in Newfoundland.
While in Alberta, it's $109.99 x 1.05% = $115.49.
Side Note: Alternatively if you want to skip taxes all together..., you can shop for digital codes specifically from GameStop / EB Games as they don't charge taxes at the time of writing this on Digital Cards.
Extra Side Bonus Note: If you have a Costco Membership, they sell a pack of (4) $25 eShop cards (= $100) instore for $89.99. So you can save $10.01. (And as an extra bonus) counts towards your 2% back.
And if you don't have a Costco Membership, you can check places like Amazon as they sell their $99 eShop cards for $89.99 (At the time of typing this).
You can Game Share with Trusted Friends and Family
As of April 2025, there's now a new method you can use in which to share your Digital Games for up to 14 Days at a time with (Close by Local) friends and family called (Virtual Game Cards). But doing this method means much like a physical copy, you won't be able to play it yourself, until the 14 days are up... unless, you decide to collect early.
Please note that the Switch 1 / 2 you are trying to collect from will have to be on and online during the time of your collection process.
Alternatively... you can still share your account by means of a (sign-in), But I would highly advise it be a trusted friend or family member... Just be sure to set one of the Switch 1 / 2 to be checked by an internet verification and thee other set to load from Virtual Game Cards.
Save on Nintendo Switch Online Service
The Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Service Family Plan is $115.49 (If using thee Alberta trick). If you can get 7 others to join you, and you all pay about $14.44 each, you should all be good. Or alternatively if you shop specifically at GameStop / EB Games, you can get it for $109.99, so about $13.75 each.
But please keep in mind those above the age of 13 can be switched in and out at any given time, which is a double edge sword. While those below the age of 13 can not be.
Best be sure you are investing with someone who can be trusted and is willing to refund you should they remove you from it for good unless the removal was only temporary. Like in the case where someone's just not using their slot due to they sent off their Switch 1 / 2 to be repaired and it's gone for a month, or they just don't plan on using it for a week or more due to being busy with other things.
Best to Buy the Right Storage
The Nintendo Switch 2 will only work with (Micro SD Express cards), so be absolutely sure it says either (Express or EX) on the card itself. And I would also highly suggest getting a Micro SD 1TB Express Card or more when able. Even if you just have the Switch 1.
